Donegal’s Kelly McGrory to lead Irish women’s 4 x 400 relay assault in Paris

Donegal athlete Kelly McGrory has been chosen to lead from the front when the Ireland Women’s Relay team take to the track tomorrow morning (FRI).

The Tír Chonaill AC will run the first leg of the Women’s 4 x 400m Relay heat at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The members of the Irish team and the running order was revealed this evening.

McGrory will burst out of the blocks followed by Phil Healy and Sophie Becker, with Sharlene Mawdsley to finish the race.

Rhasidat Adeleke has chosen not to race and will concentrate on the 400m final at 7pm later that evening.

Ireland are in the second of the two heats, which get underway at 9:40am at the Stade de France.
